Winchester & Floyd

Allow us to introduce you to Winchester and Floyd, who are not only the backbone of our small family business but also a beloved part of our family. When we decided we wanted to start The Wandering Beer Burros LLC, we searched all over the U.S.A. for miniature donkeys with the right temperament and demeanor for the job at hand. We knew we wanted "Johns" and we wanted two. Donkeys do better in pairs or in a group as they are herd animals and get lonely and depressed if kept alone. Donkeys are naturally aggressive to canines and territorial, so many donkeys can be found serving the purpose of livestock guardians, keeping coyotes away from livestock. But in our case we needed donkeys that had been handled, great around kids, great around pets, and donkeys that really enjoy human interaction. We found Winchester (age 7) and Floyd (age 8) in Dallas, Texas. Both donkeys had been around small children and small animals, and both of them love people. Winchester lives for anything food-related and will give you a big "hee-haw" if he sees food coming his way. Floyd is a lover and wants to be as close to you as he possibly can get. He loves hugs, and scratches, and even will try to crawl into your lap if you're not careful. We feel so lucky and blessed to have found the perfect pair, and they love their job. Most days you can find both donkeys taking sand baths, laying out in the sun, enjoying their pasture time, and hanging out with our two horses. We look forward to bringing them to your next event so you and your guests can enjoy their charming and funny personalities!
